NATURE SABBATICALS & ECO-SPIRITUAL QUESTS

NATURE SABBATICALS & ECO-SPIRITUAL QUESTS

"Come forth into the light of things, let nature be your teacher and healer."
~ William Wordsworth

After taking our own sabbatical year, University of Earth is pleased to be re-opening our Lost Sierra Retreat Center. With a deeper alignment to University of Earth’s mission and vision we are offering our cabin rentals again in two forms; Nature Sabbaticals and EcoSpiritual Quests.

Longing to feel at peace and relax?
Needing a reset to get grounded and inspired again?
Looking for a sacred land to gather with your loved ones?
Craving a creative space to dream, write or clarify your vision?

Desiring a guided quest for personal healing and transformation that only nature can provide?

University of Earth's Lost Retreat Center is the perfect place to unplug from the craziness of the world and reconnect with yourself, your loved ones and the life you were meant to live. Research now confirms what the "Ancients" have always known; time in nature is essential to our health and well being and in fulfilling our true life purpose.

Come, your Nature Sabbatical awaits you!
Come, your EcoSpiritual Quest beckons!

NATURE SABBATICALS

“And forget not that the Earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.” ~Kahlil Gibran

Our Nature Sabbaticals offer a unique opportunity in a truly magical setting for our guests to unplug and let nature become the healer and teacher. While our suggested stay is a week or longer, the minimum stay is three nights. For those so inclined, each of the cabins will have available suggested nature immersion activities and ecotherapy practices scientifically validated to promote healing, wholeness and enhanced creativity. Walk barefoot on the delightful riverside sands and enjoy the health benefits of grounding while forest bathing.

University of Earth is a "Sanctuary of Sobriety" and intoxicants of any kind are not allowed on the land. At the Lost Sierra Retreat Center nature is the intoxicant, come drink in the "moonshine."  Leave the cannabis, psychedelics and alcohol spirts at home, come imbibe on the Spirits of Nature, you will be amazed at the clarity this can offer.

Additional Offerings During Your Stay:
Schedule an eco-therapy session with U of Earth founder Rich Silver. Enjoy the healing cuisine and/or nutritional counseling of Kristin Mckenna, our on-site "Therapeutic Chef."

ECO-SPIRITUAL QUESTS

"Ask Nature that you may become one with her and she will whisper her secrets to you to the extent in which you are prepared to listen. Seek to be alone much to commune with Nature and thus be inspired by her mighty whisperings within your consciousness. Nature is a most jealous god, for she will not whisper her inspiring revelations to you unless you are absolutely alone with her.”
Walter Russel, The Man Who Tapped the Secrets of the Universe

WHERE ARE WE LOCATED:

Nestled at the foot of an ancient Sacred Mountain Landscape with nearly a mile of the National Wild and Scenic River, the Middle Fork of the Feather winding through its forty acres, our guests find the Lost Sierra Retreat Center an amazing place for deep rejuvenation, inspiration and inner transformation.

Delightfully appointed, our five historic cabins provide comfortable indoor lodging for up to 28 people.

Tucked away in wooded areas around campus our yurts offer unique and serene lodging opportunities for up to 4 (2 people per off-grid yurt).

Wander our many trails which offer both seclusion and stunning views. Swim in the healing waters of the "medicine river." Our enchanting riverside sitting areas and hammocks make our retreat center just what the doctor ordered, proving Jung's claim of "Enchantment is the oldest form of medicine."

"I was lying in a hammock along the river when a shaft of light came down and entered my heart, healing me of a long standing ailment."
~ Guest 2020

"Lying in one of those hammocks was the most peaceful I have felt in many years,
I never wanted to leave."
~ Guest 2023

"I kept mentally trying to figure it out and arguing with myself about asking angels for help.
I went down to the river and said to myself, just call to them, so I did.
Amazingly, I felt an instant relief to my depression."
~ Guest 2024

The retreat center is surrounded on three sides by U. S. Forest Service land. The beautiful historic Plumas Eureka State Park and Lakes Basin National Recreation Area are minutes away providing additional re-creational opportunities. Stunning glacial carved mountain peaks, lakes and waterfalls adorn the backcountry offering hiking, biking, skiing and deep nature immersion here in the Lost Sierra.  To the delight of our guests, the Western Pacific railway snakes along the river the length of the property.

Sierra Hot Springs, considered a sacred healing place by indigenous peoples, is approximately twenty-five minutes away.
