LOST SIERRA RETREAT CENTER LODGING

We offer five historic cabins built in the 1920's
~Truly a Taste of a Bygone Era~

Lost Sierra Retreat Rentals will reopen March 2024

Reserve one of our delightfully appointed cabins for a Nature Sabbatical.  Our cabins and seasonal yurts offer unique and serene lodging opportunities.

The cabins are within walking distance to the National Wild and Scenic Middle Fork of the Feather River, which winds through our 40 acres.  There are common areas for guests to enjoy, including sitting areas along the river trail with Adirondack chairs, hammocks and fire pits.  With a nostalgic ambiance the charming and comfortable accommodations offer a breath of fresh air in this busy world.

Take a step back; this is the perfect place to unplug, unwind and commune with nature. Read, write, relax, dream, rejuvenate and get inspired.  No WiFi or television.  Take a fast from screens and devices as part of your renewal time. Let nature have its way with you each day.  Cell service is spotty at this location, and a strong signal and high speed internet is available just a few miles in Graeagle.

The cabins and land were part of the Penman Peak Lumber Company established in the 1920's and was a small working lumber mill until the mid-1940's.

The land itself was inhabitated by the ancient people as part of the "Martis Complex" in northern California 2,000BC to 500AD. The Martis spent their summers at higher elevations in the Sierra, favoring springs, creeks, and rivers.  They are known in our area as the Mountain Maidu.

Located along Scenic Highway 70 in beautiful Plumas County, the property is surrounded by U.S. Forest Service land, and to add a nostalgic reminder of our industrial age in transition, the Western Pacific railway snakes along the river the length of the property.  Come experience the amazing beauty and peace of the Lost Sierra.
